Privacy Policy

App: Timelapse (package com.ergonomic.timelapse)

Timelapse is an Android intervalometer. It captures still photos on your device and can assemble JPEG frames into a video on the same device. This policy describes what the app does with information.

Summary

• Photos, videos, and settings stay on your device unless you share them yourself.
• The app does not create an account and does not upload your media to our servers.
• There are no ads and no third-party analytics SDKs in the app.
• Camera access is used only to capture frames you start.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the following locally:

• Photos. JPEG and/or DNG frames from a capture session, under Pictures/Timelapse/{project}/.
• Videos. Optional MP4 files you assemble from JPEG frames, under Movies/Timelapse/{project}/.
• Project records. Local database entries such as project name, folder path, and export details (orientation, crop, frame rate, resolution, codec).
• Preferences. Capture settings you choose (interval, photo count or duration, camera, quality, output format, composition aids, last export defaults).

Android backup and device-to-device transfer of app data are disabled. Media files in Pictures and Movies remain ordinary files on the device; other apps or cloud backup you set up on the phone may see them like any other gallery item.

Permissions

• Camera. Required to show a live preview and to take stills. The app does not access the camera in the background to capture photos after you leave it.
• Photos / storage (Android 9 and older). Used only to write captured frames and assembled videos to the albums above.
• Notifications. Used to show progress while a video is being assembled in a foreground job.
• Motion sensors. The accelerometer is used only for the on-screen spirit level when you turn that aid on. Motion data is not stored or sent anywhere.

You can revoke camera or notification access in Android settings. Without the camera, capture cannot run.

What we do not collect

The app does not collect:

• your name, email, or other account details;
• precise or approximate location;
• contacts, call logs, or messages;
• advertising identifiers for ads;
• usage analytics, crash reports, or other telemetry sent to us.

Photos and videos are not uploaded to us. Sharing a file uses Android’s share sheet: the destination (for example email, Drive, or another app) is chosen by you and governed by that service’s policy.

Google Play

If you installed Timelapse from Google Play, the app may ask Play whether a newer version is available and can open the store listing. That uses Google Play services on the device. Google’s handling of Play data is described in Google’s Privacy Policy.

Children

Timelapse is a general-purpose camera tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

• Delete a project from the list, or delete the project and its files.
• Delete assembled videos from the project’s video list.
• Uninstall the app to remove its local database and preferences. Media already saved in Pictures or Movies stays until you delete it in the gallery or a files app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised policy.
